Several months ago, my wife noticed a small lump in her neck. It grew noticeably larger week by week. In early November, we found out it was thyroid cancer. Today, she’s having surgery to have it removed.
It’s a routine procedure and as far as cancers go, it’s a really minor one; very treatable with a high chance of success. We’re staying positive as much as we can.

“D’you know what that little girl of mine did last Saturday, when her troop was on a hike out Berkhamsted way? She got two other girls to go with her, slipped off from the hike, and spent the whole afternoon following a strange man. They kept on his tail for two hours, right through the woods, and then, when they got into Amersham, handed him over to the patrols.”

The Mythical Unicorn (Tablet)
The two most difficult things that I have to deal with when helping my parents with their computer is figuring out where they downloaded or saved a file to and dealing with application windows.
If my dad minimizes a window, it’s “out of sight, out of mind” and he just re-launches the app to get a new window. Since it’s a laptop, my parents hardly ever shut it down since...
